 Glad Tidings!

So here I am still in NJ for Christmas. While it's nice to be home, it's not the same as it was in years past. I now regret not going back to NC to spend this day with my nieces. Christmas without kids just isn't the same, you know?

However Santa was good. I have a shiny new laptop! Yes, I say shiny because that's what it is! Reading the reviews of it online the big complaint everyone had is that it gets lots of fingerprints on it. It even came with a special fingerprint removal cloth. I don't really care about fingerprints, so for me, if this is the only downside, I'm ok with that :) There is one thing I have to get used to- the mousy touch pad is very sensitive so if I accidentally touch it with my palm while typing the cursor goes nuts! I'm going to see if there's a setting to lessen the sensitivity and then all will be well.

Well I'm off to play more with my new laptop. I hope Santa brought each of you something better than coal. And my wish is also for Peace on Earth and Goodwill towards everyone!

Merry Christmas!

cazzo! LE NOCI stanno con tutto!

Yes, that is Italian. No, I do not speak it. However, I am learning certain phrases thanks to google translater and my new Italian Hottie.

Surprised to hear I have an Italian Hottie? Not as surprised as I am! A couple of weeks ago I got a friend request on facebook from someone I did not recognize. So I looked to see who his friends were to see if there were any mutual- nope, in fact, most of his friends seemed to be in Italy. I sent him a message asking if we knew each other and then ended up accepting his friend request anyway because I was curious to see his profile and figured I could delete the friendship if it turned out to be a mistake.

A few days later I got the reply from him about how we knew each other..."
yes ..i remeber u 'couse we meet in brancaleone for a kool & the gang's concert.a lot of kisses" Now this was news to me because i did not even remember kissing a cute 24 year old Italian guy in Brancaleone, Italy, let alone going to the Kool & the Gang concert! But hey, why not? :)

I did confess to him that it was a mistaken identity but he did not delete me as his friend. This makes me happy cuz it cracks me up to see what he has on his wall. I check with google to translate some of them and this was today's status for him... cazzo! LE NOCI stanno con tutto!

Translation? "fuck! Walnuts are with everything!" I totally laughed out loud when I read that.

It warms my heart though to know that my young Italian hottie also dislikes walnuts. This could be the start of something very special... ;)

So I'm a NaBloPoMo loozer again :( Although the one prize I actually wanted is still TBD, so maybe there's hope? And no, it's not the hand tied fishing flies, it's the session with the animal communicator. I'm guessing whoever won it doesn't have animals so they declined it? Anyway, I REALLY would like to win it, so maybe?

So I was putting off posting because for 100 and 200 I did 100 things posts and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it again or not. There are only so many things one can babble about themselves, you know? So I think I'll skip it. Maybe if I get to post 500 I'll do it again then :) Or who knows, maybe at post 349 I'll be inspired. Whatever :)

So I'm still in NJ. I almost left on Tuesday because I was very ready, but then there was a mini household crisis and I thought I should stay for it. My mom's water heater broke :( The guy came out to look at it and it was going to be $1800! Crazy, eh? Well, my sis had saved a newsletter from the town that has this program for seniors or fixed income or something or other like that, and so my mom looked into it and actually got the whole thing installed and everything for free! Pretty amazing, eh? Since then though I have been less cranky and anxious to get out of here. I really would like to be home, but I'm really not in the mood for the drive. Today I got a call from a recruiter for a gig that starts in 2 weeks. If I get it, then it would make sense maybe just to hang here till then. We shall see. I REALLY hope this gig happens, so any good thoughts are DEFINITELY appreciated :)

Anyway, that's where life stands now...
