 A little bit o' pampering

So the new house mom has been stressing hard since she started getting used to everything and of course every day new challenges come her way. For the last 2 weeks she kept commenting on how she wish she had time just to go get her nails done. Well today I went to the house and told her we were going now, no excuses. While she got hers done, I figured I should too! It'd have been silly to just sit there and watch- right? Well here comes a confession- I had never had a pedicure before. I'm weird- I will be super generous spending money on some stuff, but then super stingy on others. Nails and hair are definitely 2 of m stingiest things. But you know, I just felt like splurging today, and so I did. My toes now are pretty in Aphrodite's Pink Nightie. The picture doesn't even do them justice- it's a really cute shade of pink :) I'm happy. One could even say I'm tickled pink ;) It was weird though, having someone working on my feet. And while one nail tech was doing my feet, another was doing my hands. The chair was a massage chair and I was half in heaven, and half feeling wicked guilty being spoiled like that. It was really strange. But I'm glad I did it. I know I won't become addicted though, because I still can't justify spending money on painting my toes when I can do it myself, but it was still a super nice afternoon.

 A compromising position

So this time I have a reasonable explanation for not writing for so long. At the beginning of this month I had some accounts hacked. Although the cool term to use is "compromised"...

I was unsure how it happened. My sister was thinking it might have been somehow related to my blog. I was torn if I should believe that or not. I considered deleting the whole thing. And that made me sad. This isn't huge like some people's are, and few people even read it, but I still like it. Often I compose posts while driving that I never actually get down, but trying to put my thoughts into words helps me, or amuses me, or just gives me something to do to pass the time.

So I've decided to just go with changing passwords all over the place and keeping this. I may end up ditching it, or I may end up using it more, who knows. But for the meantime, that's my scoop.

And in other news, I have a new cell phone. And let me tell you, this was HELL. I have been with sprint forEVER. So basically they gave me a super sweet deal to upgrade (if, of course, I sign a new contract and promise not to leave them for an iphone) and since I'm basically happy, I went for it. I loved my new phone! It was cute, and had GPS. I named her Glinda. I figured she needed a G name, and since Glinda was the good witch of the north (a direction) it made sense. Glinda was my bud.

And then Ringo thought Glinda would like to go swimming. Guess what- she did not like this. I went through sheer hell with Sprint trying to get Glinda replaced. I finally did, and the new phone has some issues now- it wouldn't ring. That's kind of a problem for a phone, you know? I'm crossing my fingers that that might be solved though. The new phone was missing it's memory card, so I got a new one of those, deleted out the ringers and redownloaded them and I think that might have worked. Someone called me before and it actually rang! Of course she was someone already in my phone book, so I'm waiting to see if it works for someone who doesn't have a ringer assigned to them. But I'm amusing myself with my ringer choices. As I've mentioned, Im on the house board for a sorority- I made anyone related to that (other than the house mom- she gets her own cuz I want to know when it's her specifically) be "It's the end of the world as we know it". Let me tell you how perfect this is! Because the call that came in had to do with the fact that it was raining in the TV room thanks to a leak on the 2nd floor.

Another ring I have are de doo doo doo de da da da by the Police. I like that it has the line "that's all I have to say to you" in it. I'm trying to think of other good songs that would make ring tones that would amuse me, so if you have any suggestions, leave a comment! :)

And in the last update- Ringo went to the vet today. I'm skeered for what the lab results might bring back, so please keep good furry thoughts for us. Ill update that when I have one.

I'm glad to be back here. I missed it. Hackers suck.
