 New again

So I decided I hate the template I have, so Im working on creating a new one. My sister is a photographer and a whiz at photo editing, so I sent her a pic and she's recreated it to be a new header/banner thingie. Her friend Daphne is html savvy and an all around good person who's offered to help me create a template that I like. Ive searched the web, found bits and pieces of ones I like, sent it all to her, and let's see what she comes up with! Im very excited!

So since it's a new beginning lookwise, I figured I'd do a new beginning type post too. In case anyone new is actually reading me since I joined the NaBloPoMo challenge, I thought Id reintroduce myself.

Here's the basic scoop on me--

I'm still single chick in her late 30's living with two cats in Raleigh, NC. North Carolina is the 9th state Ive lived in, the others are NJ, NY, PA, MA, GA, (MA again), AZ, MD, (PA again), VT, and now here. If I were to rank them in order of favorite to least, PA is probably one and VT is DEFINITELY last. I hated it there. But live and learn.

I am a mom to the two best kitties in the world. Ringo Stu Kitty is loaded with personality. He loves me more than most animals love their humans, and the feeling is mutual. Seamus Patrick O'Kitty is the sweetest cat in the history of the world. He is not friendly at home if I have anyone over, but he's spent alot of time with the vet this year and has become quite social when he's out. He ate a broom this spring which caused bleeding bowels, and as a result of that they found a murmur and he was subsequently diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. He's got a few weight issues, and when he was losing too fast he was at risk for something called Hepatic Lipidosis, but he still needs to lose, so we go for weekly weigh ins. He lost an ounce this week.

I am a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. I went back to school a few years back for it. (PA take 2) I LOVE it. Unfortunately back on February 25th of this year I got a femoral hernia moving a 380lb patient. Instead of being a typical easy recovery my body decided to turn against me and I developed a mass of scar tissue that has entrapped my femoral nerve. It sucks. Alot. So in the meantime I've been on "limited work duty" since the spring. I hate that I can't do the job I love, but I have learned alot, made alot of new friends, and had some interesting experiences with all of the different light duty gigs theyve had me on. I hope to be fixed soon though so I can get back to doing what I love.

I do love Raleigh, I've been here since 5/05 and have made a bunch of great friends here. I also have the best apartment ever. Not only do I have a fireplace, which is going practically constantly during the cool months, and I have a screened in porch that the three of us all love. I personally put in a cat door and that's one of my big single-chick-doesnt-need-a-man accomplishments. I confess though, Ringo did help.

I hate the question of hobbies, but I guess I have some. I read alot, I have a bookclub that I love. I watch tv, which sounds pitiful, but I do it socially, so it's not. I have some friends that I go jewelry making with regularly. I havent been active with it lately, but off and on I do research on my genealogy. And of course, I'm an internet addict.

Well, I guess that's a good short synopsis of me, so I'll end this for now. Check back soon to see the new and improved blog template that is in the works!

Hello! I clicked over here from the NaBloPoMo roll call - I couldn't resist the name! It turns out I'm closer to crazy cat lady than you, I have 3 - Stitch, Ashes, and Kiko. Anyway, I realized I'd just read the whole first page of your blog posts and thought I should say hi. So hi! I'll be back :)

(I'm BloP'ing at http://clumsyraine.wordpress.com, not on blogger)
